Alberta Suzan (Behne) Lemmons departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on March 29, 2026 in Chester, OK, at home surrounded by her family after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Alberta was born on January 24, 1950, in Guymon, OK to Albert and Sue (Walker) Behne. She graduated from Hooker High School in 1968. Immediately upon graduation, she enrolled in the Liberal School of Hairdressing, completed the 9-month program, and purchased the Beauty Nook from Joy Gill in Hooker, OK, where she spent many years doing hair, especially roller sets.
Alberta married Bud Stout of Hooker, OK, in 1970, and they were members of the First Baptist Church of Hooker. They enjoyed aviation and restoring classic cars, attending car shows regularly when they weren’t harvesting Bud’s family’s land in Hooker. Alberta was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, a sorority for women, where she made many meaningful friendships that followed her throughout her life. She enjoyed sewing and baking and was known all over Oklahoma for her signature bierocks. The couple had 2 children, Amanda Nan in 1976 and Mikeal Ross in 1981, and in 1987, the couple divorced.
In 1988, Alberta became the manager of the hair salon at JCPenney in Liberal, KS, where she was recognized as one of the top stylists in the nation for the organization, winning a trip to Orlando to receive an award.
In 1989, Alberta married Chuck Lemmons and relocated with her children to Seiling, OK. She continued to cut hair in a little shop set up next to their home. Alberta was a dedicated Seiling Wildcat sports mom who adorned the black and gold everything, never missing a single game played by her children. In 1995, Alberta started working in the Seiling Schools cafeteria, where she formed several profound bonds with her colleagues and community over the 15 years of her employment.
In 2015, Alberta and Chuck built their dream home on their land, the Sandburr Ranch in Chester, OK, where Chuck continues to run cattle. She loved living in the country where she enjoyed working in her flower beds and watching her hummingbirds.
Alberta is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Sue Behne, grandparents, A.T. and Gracie Walker, and Edward and Edna Behne.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Lemmons of the home, her daughter, Amanda Stout of Austin, TX, a son, Mikeal Stout, step daughters, Cassandra Trunk (Mike) of St. Augustine, FL, Katrina Oldham of Luther, OK, Karra Garin (Michael) of Edmond, OK, grandchildren, Zachary Blundell, Blake Oldham, Bailey Oldham, Kiaser Stout, Dyllan Stout, Kami Garin, Mika Garin, and grand-dog Lola, a sister, Tia Behne (Andie) of Galveston, TX, 2 brothers Roger and Kenny Behne, 3 sister in-laws, Katherine Ramsey (Charlie), Marla Sanford (Rick) and Darla Kohler (Johnny), life-long friend, Marva Jean Herald, and many other friends and relatives who will miss her profoundly.
