IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rodney Scott
Miller
October 14, 1964 – August 18, 2025
Rodney Scott Miller was born to James Willis Miller and Jeanie Ann (Nation) Duggan on October 14, 1964, in Fairview, OK. He departed this life on August 18, 2025.
Throughout his childhood, Rodney, along with his two brothers Ricky and Randy, attended Fairview, Watonga and Longdale schools and later attended high school in Canton, where he played football and ran track.
Growing up, Rodney loved to ride dirt bikes and could not resist a good wheelie. Rodney also loved fishing with his brothers and spending time together at Canton Lake. Rodney's favorite thing to do was drive across Canton dam and look for a bonfire down thunder road. That is how he always found the perfect places to have a good time. Rodney loved his mother and enjoyed spending time with, eating his favorite meals she cooked. He was close with his stepfather Bill, and began working for him servicing machines when he was just 14 years old.
After his time working for Bill, Rodney began working in the oilfield, which he continued for much of his working career. Rodney was well versed in hard work and mastered many trades throughout his life after his oilfield career. A few of these being working at Seaboard Foods, concrete truck driving, and as a heavy equipment operator and maintenance at Signal Peak and Stout.
Rodney was blessed with two sons, Scott and Chad. He loved working with his son Scott at Stout. He was always proud to cheer on Chad as he coached football. He also enjoyed cooking out for Scott, Chad, and their families. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events and bringing them donuts. He was a proud Papa.
Rodney will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will forever live in their hearts.
Rodney is survived by his sons Scott Miller and wife Amber of Longdale, and Chad Miller and wife Taylor of Enid. Rodney is also survived by his four grandchildren Kinley, Denni, Dace and Cash Miller; two brothers, Rick Miller and wife Kathleen of Longdale and Randy Miller of Honolulu, HI; as well as a nephew Chris Miller and wife Pam of Longdale; a great niece and nephew; and Laurie Lehr and her children. He was preceded in death by his mother Jeanie Duggan and father James Miller.
Funeral Services will be Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Longdale Gymnasium, with burial following at Butler Cemetery in Custer County.
