Albert "Bud" Holub, 94 year old Enid resident, formerly of Chester, passed away on April 17, 2015. He was born on March 31, 1921 to James and Carrie Holub at the Phroso community in Major County, OK. Bud grew up in the area, attending the Lakeside School. On December 23, 1944 he married the love of his life Willa Fern (Whetstone) Holub in Fairview. The couple made their home first in Chester and later Enid. Bud worked during this time as a farmer, and at the Gold Spot Dairy in Enid for over thirty years. He also worked as a house painter. In his spare time Bud enjoyed dancing, fishing, raccoon hunting, and playing baseball. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife Willa Fern in 1998, four brothers, and three sisters.
Left to carry his legacy are his two sons, Albert "Rex" Holub of Oklahoma City, and Elvin "Gene" Holub and his wife Margaret of Enid, two grandchildren Shawn Holub and his wife Cora, and Alanna Jankas and her husband J.P., two great grandchildren, Lillian and Noah Jankas, as well several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Orion Cemetery near Chester with Pastor Orville White presiding. The family of Bud Holub have entrusted his care, services, and burial to Luke Faires and the caring staff of Redinger Funeral Home.
