Aleatha Mae (Brunk) Clark was born on July 12, 1923 in Birth Weight OK west of Bessie, Oklahoma to parents Walter Samuel and Rosa Francis Gilliland Brunk. She passed from this earthly life on May 11, 2021 at the age of 97 years, 9 months, and 30 days.  Aleatha was the third of 4 children with 2 older brothers and one younger.  Their mother was tragically killed in a fire when Aleatha was 8 years old.  She became a mother to her younger brother and helped raise him.

Aleatha spent her childhood years in the Bessie area. She put herself through Oklahoma A & M and graduated with a degree in Vocational Home Economics.  Her first teaching job was in Seiling, Oklahoma.  This is where she met Wayne Jess Clark and on June 22, 1947 they were united in marriage in Cordell, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in the Seiling area except for 2 years in 1959 through 1960  when they resided in the Texas panhandle.  They then returned to Seiling and lived the rest of their lives in the area, where she taught Home Economics until her retirement.   This union was blessed with two sons, Wayne Samuel and Joe.

Aleatha loved the farm life, especially enjoyed raising wheat and cattle.  Some of her favorite things were sunshine, her yard and garden, canning and cooking.

Aleatha was a member of the Methodist Church of Seiling, Eastern Star, and the United Methodist Women.

Aleatha was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her parents, three brothers and daughter-in-law, Susie Clark.

She is survived by her sons Wayne Samuel Clark of Nowata, Oklahoma and Joe Clark of Seiling, OK. Also surviving are her grandchildren Eddie and Jequetta Kiser, both of Nowata, OK, several nieces and nephews, and students.
