Andrew Newton Stewart was born in Oklahoma City, OK on June 5, 1932. He was adopted as an infant by Elmer and Vera Stewart. His older brother, Bill, would not leave the hospital that day until they took Andy home with them. He passed from this life on August 2, 2024, at the age of 92.
Andy was raised in Gracemont, OK, for the first 9 years of his life. The family then moved to Fairview where he graduated high school with eh Class of 1950. Andy enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, and proudly served until he was honorably discharged in 1954.
On April 23, 1955, Andy was united in marriage to Kitty LaJune Woodring and to this union 2 boys were born, Chris and Curtis.
Andy was a Phillips 66 dealer in Fairview and then in 1966 he became a Mobil Oil and Kerr McGee distributor. He finished out his career owning and operating his own trucking company, retiring at the age of 82.
Andy believed in our Lord and Savior and attended the First Christian Church in Seiling, OK.
Andy spent his retirement on the farm with Kitty until her passing in 2020.
Andy is survived by his two sons, Chris and wife Michelle of Chester, and Curtis and wife Bonita also of Chester. He also leaves behind two much loved grandchildren, Baxter Stewart and wife Shayla of Tahlequah, OK, and Jordan Marsh and husband Dakota of Weatherford, OK. There are four great grandchildren who will cherish the memory of Andy: Luke Stewart of Tahlequah, Andi Stewart also of Tahlequah, Kenlee Marsh, and Taylor Marsh both of Weatherford, OK.
Andy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Kitty, his parents Elmer and Vera Stewart, and brother Bill C. Stewart.
Memorial Donations in Andy's honor may be made to the Fairview Fellowship Home in c/o Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663)
