Reva Bernadine (Louthan) Smith, 94 year old Seiling resident, passed away on August 6, 2016 at the Seiling Nursing Home. Bernadine was born to John Cope and Goldie Mae (Jones) Louthan on March 5, 1922 in Chester, OK. Bernadine attended school at the Lakeside School through eighth grade.
She married Owen Otto "Deacon" Smith on April 27, 1942 in Fairview, OK. The couple made their home southeast of Seiling until Deacon went into the service and Bernadine lived with her parents until his return. They were blessed with three children Ray, Inez, and John. Bernadine was a member of the First Christian Church.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents John and Goldie Louthan, husband Deacon Smith, son John Smith, three sisters and two brothers and great-great-grandchild Jase Charlie Sander.
She is survived by daughter Inez Sander and husband Lindy of Seiling, OK; son Ray Smith and wife Ruth of Taloga, OK; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; other family and a host of friends.
