Obituary

Otha "Carl" Hollenback passed on from this life on Saturday, June 29, 2019, while working at his farm Northwest of Chester, Oklahoma. Although his health had declined in recent years he had made an incredible recovery over the last several months, thus his death was very unexpected.

He was born on June 13, 1943, Northwest of Chester, Oklahoma. He spent most his life living and working on the family farm Northwest of Chester, Oklahoma. As a child, he attended elementary school at Oak Grove Public Schools and later went to school at Seiling Public Schools in Seiling, Oklahoma.

On October 17, 1964, he married Patricia "Pat" Wolf in Clayton, New Mexico. After their marriage he resided very briefly in Borger, Texas, and then moved back to the family farm. Carl and his wife Pat had two lovely daughters, Martha Hollenback Davis of Brookshire, Texas, and Carla Hollenback Davis of Seiling, Oklahoma. Carl and Pat lived on or near the family farm Northwest of Chester, and raised their girls there. In 2006, Carl and Pat moved to Seiling, Oklahoma.

Carl was a farmer his entire life and also worked as a water well driller and serviced water wells across Northwest Oklahoma. Carl loved farming and he was also a mechanic and a tinkerer. When he was a younger man, he could fix just about anything. He also loved good dogs, good horses, rodeo, basketball, football, old cars and old tractors and flying on airplanes. He could converse for hours about farming, cattle, horses, and fixing a tractor. He also loved his daughters and he was very protective of his two beautiful girls and very proud of their accomplishments.

Nobody was ever quite good enough for his girls. He usually greeted them in the morning with a big "Good Morning Sunshine!". Later in life, watching his grandchildren play football and basketball was a favorite past time and he was very proud of their accomplishments as well.

Carl Hollenback was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness and attended the Woodward congregation. He shared his faith in God often with neighbors and friends. He tried to help people in any way he could, and was known for calling and checking on his neighbors and friends.

Carl Hollenback was predeceased in death by: his mother, Ada Hembree Hollenback; his father, O.H. "Had" Hollenback; half-brother, Marvin "Jack" Hollenback; half-sister, Opal Hastings; half-sister, Dorothy Schafer; half-sister, Dorothy Hollenback Goin; nephew, Mickey Hollenback; nephew, Douglas Hollenback; nephew, Wayne Schafer; and nephew, Wayne Hartley.

Carl Hollenback is survived by his wife Pat of Seiling, Oklahoma; his elder brother, Harold "Junior" Hollenback and his wife Connie of Seiling, Oklahoma; and his elder brother, Elmer "Bill" Hollenback and his wife Linda of Twin Lakes, Colorado. Carl also has three grandchildren: grandson, Matthew Davis of Houston Texas; grandson, Damian Davis of Amarillo Texas; and granddaughter, Autumn Davis of Dallas, Texas. He also has eleven surviving nieces and seven surviving nephews, numerous extended family and many many friends.
