Obituary

CHERYL DAWN (DAUGHERTY) DAVIDSON, daughter of Larry and Carolyn Daugherty, was born January 13, 1956 in Clinton, OK. She passed away on September 3, 2016 at her home at the age of 60 years, 7 months, and 21 days.
Cheryl was raised in the Seiling area, where she graduated Seiling High School with the Class of 1974. She then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she received her bachelor's degree in Art. Later she would receive her Masters of Education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. On December 26, 1980 she married the love of her life Troy Jason Davidson, III at the Seiling United Methodist Church, a union of 35 years. Cheryl taught at the Seiling Public Schools where she was the Alternative Education teacher for 15 years, the art teacher for 9 years, and the Community Education Director since 1992. She also taught art at Waynoka and Carnegie Schools. She spent a lot of her free time with her students, organizing and attending art shows, serving as a 4-H leader, and being the basketball bookkeeper. She also served on the Seiling Chamber of Commerce. Cheryl started Davidson Designs, helping with signs, murals, and even tombstone art. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, traveling, and going to the movies. Cheryl also kept the habit of watching Saturday morning cartoons. She spent every moment she could with her family and her two pets, Shamus and Irish.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Mary "Carolyn" (Hendrix) Daugherty, infant sister Lisa Kay Daugherty, and mother-in-law Lavone Duffell.
She is survived by her husband Troy Davidson of the home; two daughters Ashley Davidson of Seiling and Lacey Collins and husband Kenny of Oklahoma City; grandson, Camden Collins; father Larry Daugherty and wife Artie of Seiling; four brothers Mark Daugherty and wife Lisa of Chester, OK, Michael Daugherty and wife Gina of West Fork, AR, Chris Daugherty and wife Mary of Jones, OK, and Glen Daugherty and wife Cindy of Glencoe, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Elm Grove Community Church in Chester, OK with Pastor Orville White presiding. Burial will follow at Arapaho Cemetery in Arapaho, OK.
Memorial Donations may be made in Cheryl's honor to the Cheryl Davidson Memorial Scholarship fund, and sent to Redinger Funeral Home, Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663.
