Cora Ellen "Cork" Green Bensch was one of two children born to George Green and Mary Shuck Green. She was born on September 19, 1931 in Major County, Oklahoma. She departed this life on May 2, 2017, at age 85.
She was united in marriage to Jean Tunney Bensch on August 8, 1948. They were married by her grandfather Milt Shuck at his home in the Elm Grove community in Woodward County, Oklahoma.
In 1952 she moved with her family to Medicine Lodge, Kansas where her husband had a job with National Gypsum. She later moved with her family to Lorain, Ohio and Richmond, California when her husband was transferred. Upon her husband's retirement from National Gypsum in 1977 they moved back to Chester, Oklahoma. They then purchased an interest in 7H Corral steakhouse. She and her husband eventually purchased the 7H and operated it for eleven years.
She was a member of the Elm Grove Community Church where she worked with the senior group known as Keen Agers. She enjoyed baking and supported the church's monthly barbeque with pies and cakes. She also enjoyed travelling having made four trips to Europe and multiple trips around the United States including Alaska and Hawai'i.
She is survived by her daughters Regennia Bensch Kilmer and her husband, Bob of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Caren Bensch Carvalho and her husband, Richard of Vallejo, California. She is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother Milton Curtis "Tim" Green.
