Obituary

Dale Montgomery Rumsey was born on October 22, 1922 to father Arthur Wellesley "Buster" Rumsey and mother Lela (Smith) Rumsey in Phroso, OK. He departed from this life on November 27, 2019 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 97.

Dale was married to the love of his life, Betty Field, on December 21, 1941.  He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre of World War II and was honorably discharged on November 30, 1945.  Dale was a member of the Masonic Lodge. On January 27, 1955 Dale was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. Dale was a constant contributor to the Shriners Hospital for Children. He was entrepreneur, cattleman, philanthropist, and pilot.  Dale was an avid sportsman and every summer he would travel to Canada to go salmon fishing.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lela Rumsey; and wife Betty Field.

He is survived by four nieces and nephews, Bruce Field and wife Mary, John Field, Michele Self, and Gina Kennemer.

Graveside services will be conducted at the Rumsey Pavillion at Chester Cemetery on December 5 at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Chester Cemetery in care of Redinger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663.
