Don Wesley Stands began his earthly walk on July 28, 1943, when his parents, Harold and Bonita (Jagger) Stands welcomed him to their home on the family farm near Seiling, Oklahoma.    He departed this life on October 17, 2022, at his rural home near Seiling at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 20 days.

Don grew up in the Seiling area and attended Seiling Public School graduating with the Class of 1961.  He then attended 3 years at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.

Don was a believer in our Lord and Savior and grew up in the Friends Church in Seiling.

On September 25, 1976, Don and Nancy Caron Johnson were united in marriage in Midland, Texas.  The couple were blessed with the presence of 4 children in their lives.  Bobbi Sue, Jeff, Jennifer and Leslea.

The family made their home in Lafayette, Louisiana for 38 years before moving back to the Stands family farm where Don lived the remainder of his life.

Don was in the oilfield business most of his career.  He was in sales and was a "people person".  He loved to entertain his clients and a majority of the time that was on the golf course.  He was also in the offshore transportation business, which entailed driving workers to their destinations to be transported offshore.

Don loved playing golf, he served as a past president of the Men's Golf Association at LeTriomphe Golf and Country Club in Broussard, LA.  He also enjoyed books and was an avid reader of all types of literature.  Don enjoyed watching any sporting event on television.  He was an avid Ragin Cajuns football and softball fan and was a proud Boomer Sooner supporter.  He excelled at the tailgate cooking before the games.  His "people person" skills made everyone feel welcome.  Don enjoyed traveling in his RV, being around friends, riding motorcycles, deer and quail hunting, and snow skiing.  It was widely known that Don was a Boston Terrier lover.  He also possessed a talent for singing and was a member of the Friends Singing Quakers in College.

Don loved life and his family dearly and his memory will be forever cherished.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Bonita, and his daughter Bobbi Sue Roberts.

He is survived by his beloved wife Caron of their home in Seiling: his children; Jeff Warczakoski and wife Dana of Olathe, KS, Jennifer Arceneaux and husband Casey of Duson LA, and Leslea Wallis and husband Barrett of Spanish Fort, AL.  Don will also be missed by his grandchildren: Jack Roberts, Kylea Roberts, Luke Roberts, Lane Warczakoski, Cole Arceneaux, Cate Areceneaux, Lillian Wallis, and Luke Wallis.  He also leaves behind his brother Eugene Stands and wife Virginia, and his sister Rosetta Jeffery. There are many other relatives, friends, and acquaintances that will miss his friendly face and welcoming smiles.
