Donald Ray Abbott, of Foss, OK passed from this life on August 21, 2018 at his home at the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 26 days.  Don was born on April 26, 1938 in Clifton, CO to Viola (Andrews) Redinger.  Donald grew up in the Chester area with his grandparents Frank and Lucy Abbott.  He attended school there, graduating Seiling High School with the Class of 1956.  Don worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, retiring last year at the age of 79.  On October 6, 2007 he was married to Mary Poor at their home in Foss.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, boating, and taking care of his dogs, especially his poodle Sissy.

Don was preceded in death by grandparents Frank and Lucy Abbott, mother Viola Redinger and husband Guss, brother, Bill Redinger, and sister-in-law Goldie Redinger.

Don leaves his legacy behind with his wife Mary Abbott of the home, children James Abbott and wife Waynetta of Foss, Tonya Abbott of Woodward, OK, Alan Abbott and wife Donna of Mooreland, OK, Timmy Poor of Foss, and Lisa Rico and husband David of Lookeba, OK; brothers and sisters Barbara Redinger of Seiling, OK, Bob Redinger of Seiling, Wayne Redinger and wife Cindy of Chester and Jeanie Simons and husband Wayne of Chester; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Don Abbott will be held on Sat. August 25, 2018 at 2:00PM at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel in Seiling, OK with Pastor Orville White presiding.  Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery near Chester, OK.
