IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna S.
Irving
January 30, 1959 – May 24, 2025
Donna Scott Howard Irving passed away from this life on May 24, 2025, at the age of 66 years. Her life began on January 30, 1959, in Clinton, Oklahoma, when she was welcomed by her parents, Clinton T. and Inita Mae (Weber) Porter.
Donna grew up in Seiling Oklahoma and would later make her home with her husband and children there. In her younger years, while attending Seiling Public School, she enjoyed activities such as cheerleading, twirling, and basketball. In fact, her family has heard many stories about her orneriness on the court. She started dating Terry Lynn Irving during her freshman year, and in June 1977, they were married, marking almost 48 years of marital bliss. The couple was blessed with two children, Scott Alan and Darichele Lynn. Their children have fond memories of going out on the boat; water skiing was a favorite pastime of hers, as well as antique shopping, especially for Coca-Cola products. Throughout her life, Donna worked as a secretary, employed at the Tom Rubble Attorney office for 7 years, Seiling Public School for 9 years, and Seiling First National Bank for 3 years. Donna always had a smile on her face and a friendly greeting for those she met.
Donna and Terry became Mimi and Papa as they were blessed with three grandchildren, Gavin, Gunnar, and Gracelynn. She had a fierce love for her grandkids. Her kids and grandkids would often say she was a "momma bear" as she was so fiercely protective of them. Her orneriness continued throughout her life as she would love to hide and scare her grandkids, as well as pull their toes. These simple things will be precious memories for all three.
Donna enjoyed sewing and designing quilt blocks, which she excelled in. She also enjoyed being the "backseat driver," frequently using the "invisible brake" during their many road trips to different states. Their travels took them to many national parks, Washington D.C., Canada, Cruises to Alaska and Hawaii, and many other locations, and often one of Donna's favorite places, the beach. When not traveling, she stayed busy by doing her favorite thing; her greatest joy was chasing her grandkids around in all their different endeavors and activities. Donna's family was very dear to her heart.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Ervin Howard. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Terry; son Scott Irving and wife Vashni of Seiling, Oklahoma, daughter Darichele Irving of Edmond, Oklahoma; and her grandkids Gavin Scott Irving, Gunnar Hal Irving, and Gracelynn Porter Irving. Donna also leaves behind her Uncle Bud Howard and his wife Paula, four nephews, and one niece. There are several other relatives and many friends who will miss her presence in their lives.
Although Donna is no longer with us, her spirit and love will always be in our hearts.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the OneLife Church, in Seiling, Oklahoma, with burial following at Brumfield Cemetery.
