Obituary

DOROTHY ANN (SANDER) SHUCK DONLEY, 73, of Bethany, passed from this life on March 26, 2015. She was born on November 23, 1941 to Jack and Midge Sander in Woodward, OK. She grew up in Seiling graduating from Seiling High School with the Class of 1959. Dorothy continued her education at Enid Business College.
On March 10, 1962, she married George Shuck, they lived in McAlester, OK until 1963. The couple then moved to the Bethany area and later Overland Park, KS, Salinas, California, and to Bethany again in 1975. Dorothy worked as a homemaker, loan processor, bookkeeper, and grocery store clerk.
On September 7, 1987 she married Denver Donley in Seiling where the couple made their home. Dorothy finally moved to Bethany one more time in 2002. She was initiated as a Rainbow on April 3, 1954, at the First Christian Church in Seiling, and helped with Bible school. She was also active in church, Bible study, and choir. She took an active interest in her children's lives and was a member of the PTA and a homeroom mother. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening. However, her favorite pastime was her grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Denver Donley, parents Jack and Midge Sander, maternal grandparents Charles and Myrtle Summers, paternal grandparents H.C. and Gertie Sander, Mae Sander, and several aunts and uncles.
Left to carry on Dorothy's legacy are her three children, Greg Shuck and wife Jennifer of Oklahoma City; Carla and husband Philip Whitehurst of Shawnee, and Susan and husband Eddie Bigheart of Stillwater; 10 grandchildren Samuel, Joshua and fiancée Heather Lawrence, Lauren, and Emily Shuck; Taylor, Victoria, and Jessica Whitehurst; and Beau, Brandon, and Brady Bigheart; great grandchild Joshua Hayden Shuck, as well as several other relatives and friends including lifelong friends Betty and Lanny Sander, Von Dell Curtis, and Bernie and Linda Sue Sander.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the First Christian Church of Seiling with Pastor Dennis Adair and Pastor Shane Sander officiating. Burial will follow in Brumfield Cemetery. Dorothy's family have entrusted her care, services, and burial to Bart Watkins and the staff of Redinger Funeral Home.
