Eddie Lee Elmore, 74 years old, passed from this life on Oct. 17, 2021. Ed was born in Porterville, CA on Oct. 26, 1946 to loving parents, Doy Lee and Vina Marie (Toon) Elmore. Ed grew up in California, living in Porterville, DeLano, Niles, and Pixley. The family moved to eastern Oklahoma where his parents were born, and the family settled in Sallisaw and Spiro. Ed graduated from Sallisaw High School with the Class of 1965. The Vietnam War was going, so he enlisted in the Navy on Dec 21, 1965. He sailed out of San Diego on the USS Morton, and ended his service to his country on the USS Long Beach. Ed was honorably discharged on Dec. 13, 1968 at the rank of Storekeeper Third Class (SK3) with the National Defense Service Medal, the Viet Nam Service Medal, and the the Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal.
On August 3, 1979, Ed married Nita (White) Elmore at Vici. They were blessed with three daughters, Gina Marie, Vanessa Kaye, and Trisha Ann.
At an early age, Ed was baptized into his father's church. Ed loved hunting and fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. He retired from the Seiling Public Schools as the maintenance supervisor and a bus driver.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Doy and Vina Elmore, parents-in-law, Lewis and Vivian White, and sister-in-law Roberta Elmore.
He is survived by his wife, Nita Elmore of the home; daughters Gina Williams and husband Rodney of Temple, TX, Vanessa Lowry of Oklahoma City, and Trisha McDonald and husband Scott of Oklahoma City; five Grandsons Landry Williams and wife Katie of Huntsville, TX, Camden Williams of Denton, TX, Dayton Williams of Temple, TX, Harley Lowry and Dodge Lowry, both of Vici, OK; five siblings, Charles Elmore and wife Kay of Spiro, OK, Ray Elmore of Lexington, OK, Ken Elmore and wife Sudie of Cookson, OK, Carolyn Cooper of Noble, OK, and Denise Brown and husband Doug of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Mary Coulson and husband Jerry of Vici, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
Memorial Donations in Ed's honor may be made to the Sunnyside Cemetery in c/o Redinger Funeral Home, Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663.
