Edwin Gerald Johnson passed from this life on June 26, 2019 in Seiling, OK at the age of 85.  Ed was born on November 29, 1933 to Edwin and Ruby Johnson in Mannford, OK.  He grew up around Borger, TX, attending elementary at Spring Creek School from 39-46.  He graduated from Borger High School in 1951, and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma until 1953.  In 1954, Ed enlisted in the Army of Engineers and served until 1956, and would attain the rank of Specialist III and would receive the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.  He would ultimately graduate from Texas Tech in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Geology.  On March 14, 1954, Ed married the love of his life Anna Florinne Sanders at Clayton, NM.  To this union was born four children, daughters Sherie Kay, Vicki Jo, and Connie Lynn and son Danny Lane.

Ed and the family lived in several places over the years, beginning in Lubbock, TX from 56-59, moving to Forgan, OK from 60-61, Beaver, OK 62-63, and Liberal, KS in 61, before finally moving to Elkhart, KS where Ed lived until his passing in 2019.  Before retirement, Ed was a State Farm Insurance Agent.

Ed enjoyed fishing, dancing, and watching sports.  He was a member of the Boy Scouts, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Elkhart Ambassadors, Santa Fe Investment Club, and was the Chairman of Elkhart Senior Center.  Ed was also the "voice of the wildcat" for many years.  Edwin was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was very active in his church.

Ed is preceded in death by his wife Anna Florinne "Flo" Johnson; father Edwin Lane Johnson; mother Ruby Ogden McGee; stepfather Alvin "Fibber" McGee; and son, Danny Lane Johnson.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherie Kay Kemp and husband Tom of Elkhart, KS, Vicki Jo Rockhold and husband Johnnie of Oakwood, OK, and Connie Lynn White and husband Tim of Elkhart, KS; brother Bill Johnson and wife Lila of Sherman, TX; sisters Patsy Hickman and husband Bill of Amarillo, TX, and Geraldine McCallie and husband Bill of Ft. Smith, AR; granddaughter Tara Jones and husband Kristopher of Elkhart, granddaughter Tesie Cates and husband Chad of Oklahoma City, OK, grandson Billy Kemp of Elhart, granddaughter Candice West and husband James of Emory, TX, grandson Craig Rockhold and wife Regina of Fairbank, AR, granddaughter Kelisha Murray and husband Will of Bushland, TX, and granddaughter Nikki Villa and husband Mano of Bushland; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of loved ones and friends.
