Obituary

Eva Mildred (Wilson) Ruhl, 91 year old former Fairview Oklahoma resident, was welcomed into the Lord's arms on April 20, 2015. Eva was born February 23, 1924, south of Fairview, Oklahoma, to George Vivian and Frances Leona (Humphrey) Wilson, the second of seven children.

After finishing the 8th grade at the age of 14, she went to work in Fairview, to help support her siblings. In 1941 Eva meet the love of her life, Floyd Ruhl, at a street dance in Fairview. Floyd was playing guitar in a band on the back of a flatbed truck. He winked at her and she winked back. They were married the following June 7, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas. Floyd was in the army stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas. On June 10, 1942, Floyd was deployed overseas making the invasions of North Africa and Sicily where he was wounded.

After his return, they made their home west of Orienta where they farmed for several years before moving to Fairview because of ill health. Eva went back to work working outside the home until her retirement. Eva was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and sister.

Eva joined the Nazarene Church of Fairview in 1995. Eva was a faithful member until her eyesight and health prevented her from attending. She always enjoyed family, friends, knitting, painting, sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, and giving away items she had made, donating many of her beautiful doilies to the Fairview and Longdale fire departments for fundraising. Her family always knew that when they went home she would have one of her great meals ready for them to enjoy.

She leaves to mourn her two daughters Pat and husband J.B. Richardson, Judy and husband Steve Haldeman, two grandsons Justin and wife Sherry Richardson, Steven and wife Helen Haldeman, and great grandson Michael Haldeman, great grandchildren Josh and wife Tiffany Classen, Jessica and husband Adam Yohn, great great grandchildren Harley, Ayden, and Jaxon Yohn and Charlie Classen, her sister Clara and husband Delbert Moore, brother Clarence and wife Elza Ann Wilson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Floyd, her parents Vivian and Frances, two brothers Otho and Marion, two sisters Leona and Alice, two half-brothers Johnnie and George Vivian Junior, four nephews Duane Moore, Francis Kusch, Carl Wilson, David Danielson and one niece Kelly Shambaugh.
