Gary D. Bennett was born on April 25, 1940 in rural Dewey County, Oklahoma to Leonard and Elsie (Dewald) Bennett.  He passed from this life on April 15, 2025 at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 21 days.

Gary lived his entire life in Dewey County, attending the Richmond Schools through the 11th grade when they closed, and graduating from Seiling High School with the Class of 1958. He attended Richmond Country Church as a child, and was a member of the First Christian Church of Seiling as an adult.  He was also a member of the Richmond Alumni Association.  Gary was united in marriage to Carla Elaine Bensch on September 24, 2005.  The couple made their home in Seiling.

Gary spent over 27 years working at the Panhandle Eastern Pipeline.  He loved fishing in the pond his father had built in 1945 and spending time on his farm west of Seiling. He also looked forward to the many trips to the casino with his daughters later in life and had recently hit a jackpot.  However, the true love of his life was his many grandchildren and the time that he spent with them.  They had many adventures and fun times when they visited.  He cherished the unique and special bond he had with each of them.

In addition to his parents, Leonard and Elsie, Gary was preceded in death by his wife Carla; brothers Dean and Irvin; sisters Iris and Shila, and an infant sister.

He is survived by his children Monica Gamble of Seiling, Marci Ward and husband James of Moore, OK; step-children Brian Bensch and wife Kelli of Chester, Jeff Bensch and wife Greta of Mustang, and Rachelle Rogers and husband Jeremy of Seiling.  Gary also leaves his 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren who were so adored by him; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Gary will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the Redinger Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Riley Cemetery.
