Gregory Glen Jordan, 59, of Irving, TX, formerly of Seiling passed from this life on May 4, 2015. Greg was born in Mooreland, OK on May 22, 1955 to Ramon and Patricia Jordan. Greg was raised and educated in Seiling, graduating Seiling High with the Class of 1973. Greg then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) where he earned his master's degree in Music Performance and Education. Greg then moved to Denton, TX in 1979, and later Irving, TX in 1986 where he taught music in the Dallas Public Schools from 1984 until May of 2014. He continued as a soloist at the First Church of Christ Scientist in Irving. Greg was extremely proud of his time as a performer in the Dallas Opera. He was also a devoted OU Sooners Football fan.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Patricia Jordan, and his brother Lee Jordan.
Survivors include his brother Timothy Jordan and wife Sue of Pflugerville, TX; and girlfriend Karen Mayberry, as well as several aunts, uncles, very special nieces and nephew Kelsey, Stephanie, Rachel, and Jonathan and a host of friends, coworkers, performers, and students who will carry on his passion for music.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Seiling, with Pastor Orville White officiating. Burial will follow at Brumfield Cemetery. Tim, Sue and the family of Greg Jordan have entrusted his care, services, and burial to Luke Faires and the caring staff of Redinger Funeral Home.
