February 7, 1932 – December 18, 2021
Harold "Boyd" Griffith; son of Harlan and Mary (Myers) Griffith, was born February 7, 1932 at the family farm Northwest of Mutual in Woodward County Oklahoma. He departed this life on Saturday December 18, 2021at home. Boyd was 89 years old. He started and finished his education in the Mutual schools and graduated in 1956. After high school, Boyd served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He was united in marriage to Sonya Jean Wyckoff, January 21, 1956 in the Mutual United Methodist Church. They shared 62 years of marriage. Boyd and Sonya made their home at the Griffith Family Farm where they raised 3 children: Mike, Wade, and Gina. Boyd was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He also worked for several years at the Woodward Coop. He was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church and also served many years on the Sharon-Mutual School Board.
Boyd is survived by his three children, Michael Griffith and wife Renae of Grove, OK, Robert Griffith and Rich Kenney of Weatherford, TX, and Gina Latta of Wichita, KS. Five grandsons, Jon Griffith and wife Abbey of Liberty, MO, Sean Phillips and wife Amber of Kansas City, MO, Blake Phillips and wife Randi of Arnett, OK., Scott Griffith and Brian Griffith of Grove, OK. He was blessed with 6 great grandchildren Nolan, Calvin, Maddox, Aleks, Amelia, and Ridge. He is also survived by 1 sister, Roberta Christensen of Kiowa, KS, several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonya Griffith, parents, Harlan and Mary Griffith, two brothers, Jiggs and Melvin Griffith, 2 sisters, Winifred Clark and Mildred Espy.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Mutual First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Dunlap Cemetery.
Memorial Donations in Boyd's honor may be made to the Dunlap Cemetery in care of Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663).
