Janet Marie Snow Hoyt's Obituary

Janet Marie (Hickman Snow) Hoyt, 81, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and so much more. Janet resided in Seiling, Oklahoma and attended the Seiling Church of Christ. Janet had one son, Vernon "Jay" Snow. Some of Janet's greatest joys were being a mother and grandmother. Janet also enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, playing Wahoo, collecting salt and pepper shakers, participating in car shows, and spending time with her Pekinese dogs along with her family and friends.

Janet Marie Hickman was born August 20, 1944, at the family farmhouse in Dewey County, Oklahoma.  She was born to her parents Freddie and Ollie Hickman. She has one brother, Henry Hickman. Janet passed from this life on February 7, 2026.

Janet grew up on the family farm near Cestos, Oklahoma. Janet attended Richmond School through 7th grade and then attended Seiling Public Schools, graduating with the Seiling Class of 1962. Janet played basketball for Seiling High School. Janet also attended Clinton Beauty College and graduated in 1963.

Janet married Vernon (Hank) E. Snow in 1964. They resided in Seiling, Oklahoma and then in Quinlan, Oklahoma.  They moved to Taloga, Oklahoma in 1967 where Janet resided for many years with her husband, Hank, and their son, Jay, born in 1967. Hank passed in 1994.

In addition to being a homemaker and a mother, Janet also enjoyed going on the truck with her husband Hank. Janet worked for Gail's café, Jeanie's Beauty Shop, Connie's Beauty Shop, Seiling Nursing Home, Seiling Hospital Kitchen, and Snoopy's Day Care. Janet worked for the Dewey County Election Board for many years until her retirement.

Janet married Loyd Jay Hoyt on May 7, 1996, and gained five new stepchildren and many new and future grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren whom she loved as her own. Janet and Loyd enjoyed many happy years together until Loyd's passing in 2017.

Janet enjoyed working on the upholstery and helping Loyd work on classic cars and participating in car shows. Together they enjoyed their 1948 Chevy Fleetmaster, a custom '29 Coupe yellow pickup, and many other classic cars.

Janet enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She would often sew matching dresses for Fayth, Christie, and LaDonna and have tea parties.  She enjoyed reading Clifford the Big Red Dog stories to her grandchildren and collecting Clifford items.  Janet and Loyd would often take their young grandson, Jared, camping and fishing and to car shows. Janet and Loyd loved taking Fayth, Seth, and Christopher to church regularly and sharing a love of Jesus. Sundays together were very special to them. Recently, Janet loved to hear the goodnight prayers that Christie would say for her Grandma via FaceTime.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Ollie Hickman; her first husband, Vernon E "Hank" Snow; her second husband Loyd Jay Hoyt, and stepdaughter Lynn Cozad. She is survived by her son, Vernon "Jay" Snow and his wife, Hope, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her granddaughter Christie Marie Snow, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her grandson Jared Tye Snow, and his wife Kaylyn, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma; four of her stepchildren – Loyd Kelly Hoyt, David Mark Hoyt, Sally Blumer, and Shawna Hoyt; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
