John Evan Plain, 66, of Enid OK passed from this life on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 11, 1949 in Shattuck, OK to Hessel Sr. and Rosa "Evelyn" Plain. He grew up in Follett, TX on a farm and graduated from Follett High School with the Class of 1968. He was married to Jannette Potter in Kansas and to this union three children were born, John WesLee, Tonya and Jerry. He was again married on July 20, 2000 to Linda M. (Piantigini) Plain in Vermont. John was known as a hard worker, starting on the farm, then moving to the oilfield. When the oil boom ended John went to work for Willie Shaw, a trucking company doing cross country hauls and later worked For American Freight of which became FedEx moving on to be a supervisor at FedEx for six years in Enid, OK before his retirement. John was a veteran having served in the United States Army in Vietnam. John was baptized into the Assembly of God Church in 1975 and was proud to have helped in the rebuilding of the Elm Grove Community Church in Chester.
John was preceded in death by his parents, sister Elizabeth Jane Hill and three brothers, Hessel J. Plain, Jr., Arthur Joseph Plain, and Donald Jack Plain.
Survivors include his wife Linda Plain, three children, John WesLee Plain of Taloga, Tonya June Kourt and husband Todd of Seiling, and Jerry Evan Plain of Seiling OK, a step-daughter Pamela Fazio of Methuen, MA, four sisters, Coeta Sperry Halliburton and husband Raymond of Follett TX, Georgia Perez and husband Willie of Amarillo, TX, Ellen Rabe of Perryton, TX and Mary Hoover and husband David of Albuquerque, NM, mother-in-law Angelina Piantigini, six brothers in law, and two sisters in-laws as well as twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous other nieces and nephews.
