Joseph Anthony Lanesky of Putnam, Oklahoma passed from this life on June 5, 2024, at the age of 84 years. His life began on May 16, 1940, in Croton Hardy Dam, Michigan, when his parents Joseph and Mable (Howarth) Lanesky welcomed him to their family.
Joseph younger years were spent in the Michigan area before he ventured south to Oklahoma. He settled in a small town, Putnam, in western Oklahoma. This is where he lived the life he loved the most and that was being a farmer.
Joseph also enjoyed woodworking. He made several bird houses, wooden trucks, car shelves, and many other wooden treasures which he gifted to family and friends.
Joseph loved the outdoors and being in nature. His love of the land was evident through the care with which he operated his farm.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mable, and his sons Ray Lee Dutton and Gregory Scott Lanesky. Also, preceding Joseph in death are his former wife Goldie May Lanesky; his grandchildren; Jeffery Scott Decheny, Jr., Nathan Scott Decheny, Larinda and Lucinda West, Anthony Frank Leroy West, and infant baby boy West.
Joseph is survived by his children; Valerie Pence and husband Michael of Hesperia, MI, David Dutton and friend Lisa of Baldwin, MI, and Rebecca Berson and husband Tim of Hesperia, MI. He also leaves behind sisters Lorinda Brooks and family of Baldwin, MI, and Mary Yoakam Dalton and family of Florida. Joseph's memory will be cherished by his grandchildren: Elnora Pence and husband Tommy and children Summer, Shawn, Braydon, Isaiah, Hunter, Conner, and Carson of Fremont, MI; Annie May West-Martin of Hesperia, MI; and Christina Dutton. There are many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss his presence in their lives.
