Lora Jean (Dedrick) Louthan, 84 year old Chester resident, passed from this life on February 24, 2023.  She was born on April 12, 1938 in Seiling to Walton Charles and Freda Myrtle Dedrick.  She was raised and educated in Seiling, graduating from Seiling High School with the Class of 1956.  She married her high school sweetheart Mackey Allen Louthan at the Seiling First United Methodist Church on November 11, 1956.  This union was blessed with four children, Ricky, Mickey, Virgil, and Wanda.  The couple first made their home in Wichita, where Mackey worked for Boeing Aircraft.  However, they soon returned home to the Seiling and Chester communities where they lived the rest of their lives.

Lora Jean worked as a cook at the school cafeteria for 40 years, finally retiring in 2007.  She also farmed with her husband, where she often drove the tractor.  In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and cooking where she was especially known for her hot rolls and cinnamon rolls.

In addition to her parents, Walton and Freda, she was preceded in death by her husband Mackey; son, Ricky Ray Louthan; and three siblings, Geneva Armstrong-Kellebrew, Eloise Myers, and Leonard Dedrick.

She is survived by her three children, Mickey Louthan and wife Debbie of Seiling, OK; Virgil Louthan and wife Debbie of Chester, Ok; and Wanda Mongold and husband Rick of Chester, OK; ten grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Elm Grove Community Church in Chester, OK.  Burial will follow at Brumfield Cemetery.
