Mary Ellen (Sander) Louthan, daughter of Allison & Mary Myrtle (Norman) Sander, was born March 7, 1927, at Seiling, OK. She departed this life, Tuesday August 25, 2015, at the Seiling Municipal Hospital at the age of 88 years. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2015; at Brumfield Cemetery.
Mary grew up in the Seiling community, graduating from Seiling High School with the Class of 1945. She married her high school sweetheart, Earnest Eugene Louthan on May 15, 1947 in Seiling. They made their home southwest of Seiling where they raised four children, raised cattle, and farmed. They moved into town from the farm in 2005.
Mary was baptized at the Christian Church in Seiling in 1942, and transferred her membership to the United Methodist Church in 1957 where she served in many capacities. She enjoyed being an artist, genealogist, and quilter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Earnest, son in law Keith Davis, grandsons Scott Taylor and James Louthan, and four siblings, Melvin Sander, Olene Cunningham, Joan Cox, and Patty Donley.
Mary is survived by one son, Ralph Louthan and wife Deena of Seiling, three daughters, Barbara Holsapple and husband Frank of Oakwood, Cathryn Taylor and husband Larry of Barling, AR, and Deborah Davis of Lubbock, TX; Grandchildren, Eric Benton and wife Kim, Kevin Davis, Trent Taylor, and Kayla Holmes and husband Andrew; Great Grandchildren Kayla, Kyle, and Bradley Benton, and Mason Louthan. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
