Norma Jo Ward was born on April 26, 1930 in Mutual, Oklahoma to Clyde and Wava (Telford) Symes.  She passed from this life on January 8, 2020 in Tucson, AZ.

Norma grew up in the Mutual, OK area graduating from Mutual High School.  She married the love of her life Richard Karl Ward on October 10, 1947 in Canadian, TX.  After Richard's discharge from the service, the couple lived in several towns including Ft. Worth, TX, and Shawnee, OK before moving to Chester to run the Ward family farm.  Norma obtained her LPN license and worked as a nurse as well as helping on the farm.  In 1996, Norma and Richard retired from farming and moved to Woodward, OK.  In 2012 Norma moved to Tucson, AZ to be closer to her son Richard and his family.

Norma enjoyed many hobbies including quilting, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, cards and board games.  She especially loved spending time with her family.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her three sons, Richard, David and Craig.  She is survived by her daughter-in-law Irma (aka Brandy), grandsons Ric, John and Christopher, great granddaughter Tyler Marie, great grandson Haku Alexander, as well as numerous friends and relatives.

Graveside service will be held at Brumfield Cemetery on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 10 a.m.
