Norman W. Fuqua, 85, of Seiling, passed from this life on August 25, 2015. He was born on June 3, 1930 to Raymond Warren and Rosa (Hand) Fuqua. He grew up and was educated in Seiling, graduating with the Class of 1948. Norman was united in marriage to Imogene Craighead and to this union two children, Jenae and Kevin were born. Norman served with the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning to the states, Norman attended Friends University and worked at Security Abstract and Title Company in Wichita for many years, eventually becoming a vice president of the company. After retiring, he spent several years living in Texas near his children and later returned to Seiling to be close to his brothers and sister. Norman was a member of the Friends Church and later The Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed remodeling his homes, but will be best remembered as an avid gardener, even ordering the perfect bulbs and seeds was a major calendar event for Norman.
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his son Kevin Fuqua; sister Gwen Black; brother Doyle Fuqua; and brother and sister in law Gary and Ann Fuqua.
Left to carry his legacy are daughter Jenae Cronk and husband Matthew of Austin, TX; three brothers, Russell Fuqua and wife Sherry of Seiling, Lael Fuqua and wife Karen of Bethany, and Keith Fuqua of Canton; sister Joann Calkins of Taloga; three grandchildren, Kristopher Fuqua of Burnet, TX, Jennifer Fuqua of Wichita, KS and Rhiannon Grommesh of Kansas City, MO; seven great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Brumfield Cemetery with Pastor Orville White presiding. The family has entrusted Norman's care, services, and burial to director Luke Faires and the staff of Redinger Funeral Home.
