IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul D
Martin
September 12, 1939 – October 22, 2020
Paul D Martin, fourth child of Harry Harvey "Hal" and Nancy "Marie" (Dickens) Martin was born on Tuesday Sept. 12, 1939 at home on the family farm in Dewey County, Oklahoma. Paul's dad made the land run of 1893 in Major County, OK. He was 68 when Paul was born and two arrived that day. Paul was the youngest by 15 minutes. Paul was proud to be the youngest of the original homesteaders' children in Oklahoma. Paul attended school at Longdale, graduating with the Class of 1957 where he was the vice-president of his senior class. He loved baseball and basketball. He loved to sing country music, go two-stepping, tell jokes, and make people laugh. His spare time was fishing, hunting, playing 7-point pitch, and spoiling the kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was always at all their sporting events. Each one was special, and he never missed an opportunity to tell them so. He taught all his children to work hard, strive for the best, and NEVER give up. Paul was baptized in the First Christian Church and served as a deacon for several years. He was a Master Mason and a perpetual member of the Seiling Masonic Lodge #495. He never was too busy to help a neighbor, friend, or stranger. He married Betty (Hurt) on Dec. 31, 1961 and they were blessed with 3 children, Paul Bruce, Gaylene, and Teresa. They bought their first farm in 1965, raising cattle, hay, and wheat. He was preceded in death by his parents Hal and Marie, daughter Gaylene Denise Roulet, brother George Martin, and sister Jessie Dow. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 59 years, Betty of the home; son Paul Bruce Martin (Paula) of Enid; daughter Teresa Klingsick (Marcus) of Stillwater; son-in-law Chris Roulet (Heather) of Clinton; grandchildren, Brooke Roulet of Yukon, Katie Hayslett (Tyler) of Mesquite, TX, Ryan Roulet (Cami) of Weatherford, Landon Martin (Brooke) of Enid, Ky Klingsick (Rylee) of Huntsville, AL, Kamdyn Klingsick of Stillwater, Larry Becker (Rachel) of Wichita, KS, and Taylor Gordon (Chris) of Enid; great grandchildren McKinley Brooke and Kason Cole Martin of Enid, Koper Briggs Roulet of Weatherford, Sawyer and Paisley Becker of Wichita, KS, Laylah Fay Cooper and Kinley Rae Roney of Enid and one more on the way; twin sister, Pauline D Schoonmaker; sister-in-law Laveta Martin of Longdale, 3 nieces, 5 nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Our lives were always better because you walked our way. Love You.
