Robert (Bob) Elvin Meigs was born on December 11, 1946, in Eglosheim, Germany, to the late Elvin and Bella Meigs and passed away at the age of 77 on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at his home.

Bob grew up Northwest of Seiling in the Richmond Community and attended Richmond Schools until it closed. He attended Seiling High School and graduated from Seiling High in 1965. After graduating from high school, Bob attended Okmulgee Tech until drafted into the military where he was stationed at Fort Hood and built dirt runways. He returned to Okmulgee on the GI Bill to finish his education as a diesel mechanic and graduated in 1970. While in Okmulgee he met his first wife, Betty Greenwood and they made their home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. From this union they had two sons, Alan Meigs born February 1976 in Yukon, Oklahoma and Karl Meigs born August 1981 in Woodward, Oklahoma. In 1976 after the birth of their first son, they moved to Seiling, OK where he started his farming career and later opened his own business as Bob's Diesel and Auto Repair. In 1987, Bob met his current wife, Lynn McFarland and they married on July 2, 1987, creating 37 years of memories together. With her help and support they started Meigs' Custom Harvesting and enjoyed many years of traveling north to custom harvest with his boys and Lynn until 2005. Bob continued his diesel and auto repair business retiring from it in 2014 and put all his attention into farming full time until 2023. Bob and Lynn found a new love for camping after purchasing their first camper. They enjoyed many trips to the mountains and lakes with their camper enjoying the outdoors. Bob loved Lynn dearly and supported her ideas and passions when it came to her animals and gardening. He had a heart full of love for his wife, Lynn and his boys and jump at opportunities for projects and adventures with them all. During his lifetime Bob acquired many talents such as woodworking, welding, and fabricating. As well as many enjoyments with his family that included playing cards and dominos, traveling to the mountains to UTV ride, and playing with his grandchildren. The families' fondest memories will be his huge love and laughter for life.

Bob is proceeded in death by his parents Elvin and Bella Meigs. Bob is survived by his wife, Lynn, and two children and their families: Alan and Brandie Meigs of Edmond, Oklahoma and Karl and Candy Meigs of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Lizben and Reese Meigs of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Reed Meigs of Edmond, Oklahoma; two siblings: Linda Nelson and husband Bud of Cordell, Oklahoma and Donna Holt and husband Eddie of Cordell, Oklahoma along with many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Brumfield Cemetery in Seiling, OK.
