Robert Wayne Walters, affectionately known as Bob, was born on June 28, 1936, to Jesse Gwen Walters and Hazel Lenore (Ames) Walters in the serene town of Fonda, Oklahoma. He was called to his eternal rest on July 21, 2023, at Okeene, Oklahoma, surrounded by his beloved family, who were a source of love and comfort throughout his journey.
Bob spent his early years in Fonda, attending the Diamond School until its closure, after which he continued his education in Fonda. His academic journey led him to Seiling High School, where he graduated with the Class of '54, embracing the knowledge and friendships that would shape his future.
From 1959 to 1964, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, demonstrating unwavering dedication and loyalty. He was honorably discharged after his years of honorable service, leaving a legacy of patriotism for his family to cherish.
On August 28, 1965, Bob married the love of his life, Hazel Norlene Hauschild, in a heartwarming ceremony at the Christian Church in Fairview, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life filled with love, happiness, and shared dreams. From their union, three beloved sons were born – Allen, Ray, and Jerry - who became the joy of their lives.
Bob embraced the life of a farmer, a profession that resonated with his spirit and allowed him to connect with nature's beauty and bounty. As a young man, he enjoyed the thrill of hunting quail, creating cherished memories of times spent in the great outdoors.
Throughout his journey, Bob's faith played a central role in his life. He attended the Friends Church and later found solace and fellowship at the Longdale Community Church. His faith guided him through challenges and triumphs, providing him with the strength to face life's uncertainties.
Bob's life was a testament to the importance of family, and he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a pillar of support for his sons and a loving partner to his wife, Hazel Norlene, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. Bob was a caring grandfather to Aaron, RaeAnn, Kaileb, Koeby, and their respective families, including his great-grandchildren Knox and Kyla, who filled his heart with immense joy.
Bob's loving spirit and kind demeanor touched the lives of many, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished for generations. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Gwen Walters and Hazel Lenore Walters, and granddaughter Amy House, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the embrace of eternity.
