IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shawn Michael
Miller
June 14, 1995 – July 8, 2023
Shawn Michael Miller, a cherished young man of Cheyenne heritage, was tragically taken from us far too soon. Born on June 14, 1995, in Enid, OK, Shawn brought immense joy and love into the lives of his parents, Diana Cayot and Shawn Allen Miller. His vibrant spirit, kind heart, and infectious laughter will forever be etched in the memories of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Shawn's educational journey took him through Fairview Elementary, Woodward High School, and ultimately led him to graduate from Thunderbird in Tulsa, OK in 2013. Following his graduation, Shawn embarked on a career in the oilfield and construction industry, where he worked as a dedicated laborer. His strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a valuable asset.
While Shawn dedicated himself to his profession, he also cherished the moments spent with his beloved family. Camping trips filled with laughter, skipping rocks at the river, and engaging in spirited basketball games were among his favorite activities. One of his cherished pastimes was playfully messing with his cousin's ponytails, bringing a mischievous joy to their shared bond.
Shawn's kind and generous nature extended beyond his immediate family. He touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to call him friend. His infectious smile, warm personality, and genuine compassion were gifts he freely shared with all those he encountered.
Shawn's untimely passing brings immense sorrow to all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Priscilla Miller and Keela Edwards; his grandmother, Debra Cole; his grandfather, Allen Miller; and his great-grandparents, Shirly and Bob Betts, and Edward and Elizabeth Bull.
He is survived by his father, Shawn Miller, and his wife Marilyn of Woodward, OK; his mother, Diana Cayot of Fairview, OK; his sister, Erin Miller of Weatherford, OK; his son, Brody Miller of Woodward, OK; his grandmother, Minnie Tapia of Woodward, OK; his grandfather, John Cayot; and his nephews, Jakoda Fisher and Stefan Davis, along with numerous other beloved friends and family members.
A service to celebrate Shawn's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday July 15, 2023 at the Canton Emergency Response Center. Burial will follow at Cantonment (Indian Mennonite) Cemetery. A traditional Cheyenne Wake service will be held from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Seiling Emergency Response Center
In the wake of this devastating loss, let us remember Shawn as the vibrant, loving young man who brought joy and happiness to those around him. May his memory serve as a reminder to embrace life fully, to cherish our loved ones, and to nurture the bonds of family and friendship.
"Our hearts ache in your absence, Yet your spirit remains forever. In the winds and whispers of nature, We feel your presence, a lasting tether."
Rest in peace, dear Shawn Michael Miller. May your spirit find eternal peace, and may your loved ones find comfort in the memories that will forever be treasured.
