Shirley Faye Stong, 81, of Seiling, OK, died peacefully February 18th at the Seiling Nursing Home in Seiling, OK. She was born November 9th, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK to Kermit Aldwin and Alma Una Cossey.
She graduated from West High in Wichita, KS in 1956 and spent most of her life working in the banking industry. She enjoyed cooking, watching sports and visiting friends and family.
Mom displayed a resilient and positive attitude in the face of the decline in her health over the past few years. She'll be remembered by close friends and family as strong, kind, and loving.
Survivors include her son: James Dean Schlegel and wife Lisa of Wichita, KS; her son: Gary Gene Schlegel and wife Mary of Seiling, OK; her daughter: Rhonda Faye Elliott and husband Dan of Fairfield, CA; and son: Donald Logan Stong and wife Jennifer of Edmond, OK; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Glenda Holloway, and one grandchild Cameron Stong.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Brumfield Cemetery under the direction of Redinger Funeral Home in Seiling, OK.
