Thomas Lynn Robertson was born as a twin on October 6, 1949, to Leland and Juanita (Hill) Robertson, and he passed away June 6, 2018, at Baptist Hospital in OKC, at the age of 68 years and 8 months. Tom attended school in Putnam and Clinton, graduating with the last Putnam High School class in 1967.
Tom worked different jobs before starting college at SWOSU, until being called to the army. After his honorable discharge, he returned to SWOSU to earn his Bachelor's degree in accounting, and then he became an IRS agent for a few years before going back to his main love of harvesting, ranching, and farming. Tom followed harvest much of his life before his health made him give it up and then went into farming full-time. While on harvest in Nebraska in 1981, he met the love of his life, Janet Roffers. He finally convinced her to marry him, and they were married on October 15, 1983, in Rushville, Nebraska. He then moved his new family to Oklahoma. Tom always laughed when crossing a dry river, because JoLynn and Jason never understood...there was always water in a river in Nebraska. Tom was a wonderful husband, father, and grandpa to his 4 beautiful granddaughters and wonderful grandson. He taught each one how to drive and shoot a gun. He always enjoyed their games and school events and hated when he wasn't able to attend. One of his main highlights was the 2017 family trip to Washington D.C. We could never get him off the farm, and his idea of a family vacation was usually harvest. His next family vacation was going to be an Alaskan Cruise with all the family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Jaunita Robertson; twin brother Richard Robertson; father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Myrtle Roffers. He is survived by his wife, Janet, of the home in Putnam, OK; daughter JoLynn Kay Combs and husband Steve of Chester, OK; son Jason Lynn Robertson and wife Lisa of Fairview, OK; brother Bill Robertson and wife Karen of Putnam, OK; Uncle Leroy Hill of Pampa, TX; brother-in-law Ron Roffers and wife Kim of Rushville, NE; granddaughters Kristin Schoonmaker and husband Kendal of Longdale, OK; Kacie and Karlee Combs of Chester, OK; Jali and Treyson Robertson of Fairview, OK, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
