Wanda Louise (Coulson) Clayton, 85, of Chester, OK passed from this life on February 12, 2021. She was born on October 28, 1935 to Floyd Elmer and Louella Lillie (Cathey) Coulson in rural Dewey County. Wanda grew up in the Richmond Community graduating from Richmond High School. She married Lawrence Ira Clayton on October 4, 1953 at the Woodward County Courthouse. It was a Saturday, but the court clerk agreed to marry them so Wanda could have the same anniversary as her parents. To this union three children were born: Susan, Larry, and Kevin. Lawrence and Wanda first made their home in Wakeeney, KS and Yukon, OK. In 1968, the couple moved to the Chester area. Wanda was baptized at the Mutual Christian Church on Easter Sunday in 1963, where she attended. She also went to Wednesday morning Bible Study in Chester, was a former Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher and helped with funeral dinners. In her spare time Wanda enjoyed cooking, she even published her own cookbook. She also liked music, singing, reading to the Seiling Nursing Home patients weekly, and making root beer floats for her grandchildren. Wanda participated in exercise class at the Senior Center. Wanda loved to cook for her family, and was especially known for her Sunday family dinners.  She was also an avid Wheel of Fortune watcher who rarely missed a show.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Clayton; her parents, Floyd and Louella Coulson; brother Dale Coulson; sister Donna Johnson; sister Arvetta Coulson; one infant sister; two infant brothers; and daughter-in-law Pattie Clayton.
Left to carry her legacy are her three children, Susan Burton and husband Jody of Woodward, OK, Larry Clayton and wife Rebecca of Chester, OK, and Kevin Clayton of Chester, OK; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Elm Grove Community Church. Private burial will follow at Cedardale Cemetery.
