Obituary

William Thomas Dougherty began his earthly life on February 4, 1961, when he was joyfully welcomed by his parents Eddie and Patsy Dougherty in Oklahoma City.  He passed from this life on June 7, 2025, at the age of 64.

Tom, as he was known, and his family lived in the Oklahoma City area for the first five years then moved to Wellston, Oklahoma.  He attended Wellston Grade School and High School where he graduated with the Class of 1979.  Tom then furthered his education at the OSU campus in Oklahoma City.

On August 14, 1987, Tom was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lettie Kay O'Brien in Gainesville, Texas. The couple made their home in Edmond and were blessed with two daughters, Heather and Leslie.

Tom worked as a Lineman and Safety Director for MESO.  He was a valued employee and trusted co-worker.

Tom was baptized into the Catholic Church as an infant.  He became a member of the Britton Christian Church were he as attended for the past 17 years.  He served his church as a member of the choir and was also serving as a deacon.

Tom loved to go camping with his family and friends.  He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Broncos, and Oklahoma State University football.  His true passion was helping other people.  He was a member of the Mutual Aid for Municipalities. Tom greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He loved to play all sorts of games with family and friends, especially when he won. An award that Tom received was "Best Husband Ever", this was a testament of his love for his wife and family.

Tom was preceded in life by his parents, Eddie and Patsy, sister Paula Pedigo, brother Mickey Dougherty, and both Maternal and Paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lettie, of the home; daughters Heather of Oklahoma City, and Leslie of Edmond, Ok, and granddaughter Amelia Dougherty of Edmond.  Tom also leaves behind two brothers: Charlie Dougherty and wife Renee of Wellston, OK and Pat Dougherty and wife Becky of Seiling, OK.  There are nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who were blessed to have known Tom.

The love and devotion that Tom displayed for his family, church, and community will be a cherished memory for all who knew him.  He will forever remain in our hearts.
